Details
The K2 Alchemist is packed with functional technology. The Alchemist features two unique technologies from the K2 camp; a SpaceGlass™ tip insert and patented Spectral Braid technology. SpaceGlass™ is a pre-cured fiberglass insert that helps reduce weight, minimize chatter, and increase edge pressure. Spectral Braid allows us to adjust tip-to-tail stiffness independently from the torsional stiffness, creating a stiffer snowboard in the tip and tail to promote edge hold, while keeping it more relaxed between the feet for easy turn initiation.
Board Type: Freeride-Powder
Freeride snowboards are built for steeper, off-piste terrain. These boards are ideal for aggressive riding and usually for more advanced riders.
Powder snowboards are designed for deep snow. Generally these boards feature a directional shape with a tapered tail for better float and ease of riding.
Flex: 9/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Stiff snowboards are precise, responsive, and built for advanced riders tackling high speeds, steep terrain, or icy conditions. They deliver powerful turns, excellent edge hold, and enhanced stability, especially during aggressive riding.
Ability Level: Advanced
Advanced snowboards are stiffer and more responsive, designed for high-speed control, precision riding, and handling challenging terrain or tricks.
Shape: Directional
A directional snowboard has a shape designed for riding primarily in one direction, with a longer nose and a shorter, more compact tail. This design provides better control, stability, and float in powder, making it ideal for freeride and all-mountain riding. It offers optimal performance when riding forward, with a focus on carving and downhill runs.
Camber Type: Directional Combination Camber
The best of both worlds. Combining traditional Camber and Rocker profiles, Directional Combination Camber offers the pop and precision of camber, along with the float and predictability of rocker.
Width: Standard, Wide
Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.
Wide boards are for those with large boot sizes and provide extra flotation, reduced drag, and never feel clunky or cumbersome underfoot.
Inserts: 2x4 Inserts
These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.
Board Construction
Laminate: Triax Glass, Spectral Braid™
A fiberglass weave intersecting at three angles enhances torsional stiffness and overall strength.
Spectral Braid is a first of its kind variable angle reinforcement that allows for precision tuned torsion and flex by altering the fiber orientation along the length of the snowboards. This makes our snowboards feel lively, energetic, and remarkably composed.
Core: S1 Core
The smooth-flexing cousin to our A1 core, our NEW S1 Core is designed to be damp underfoot and stronger than hell. Constructed from Bamboo, Aspen, and Paulownia, the S1 Core let’s each wood do what it’s best for. Tip-to-tail Bamboo stringers add snap, durability, and damping underfoot and are balanced out by lightweight Paulownia in the midbody, tip, and tail help to reduce swingweight. Underfoot, Aspen and Bamboo are placed at 30 ° angles to increase strength, supercharge the edge-to-edge response, and increase the pressure distribution along the edge.
Base: Wax Infused Sintered 4001 Base
Built using the hardest and fastest Sintered base material on the market from Crown, the Wax-Infused Sintered 4001 holds wax longer than other Sintered bases for a smoother glide, longer.
Addition Features:
- SpaceGlass™
An American made Aerospace grade precure fiberglass core insert used to provide unmatched structural performance at reduced weight. SpaceGlassTM inserts increase edge hold along contact points, reduce chatter, and provide unequaled durability.
- Carbon Power Fork™
A pre-cambered carbon inlay in the tail of your snowboard gives the board energy in and out of turns and adds extra pop for takeoffs and landings.
- Recess3D
By reducing the amount of materials in low-stress zones, we’re able to reduce the swingweight of your snowboard, while also reducing chatter in the tip and tail - all without sacrificing strength.
