Yes Basic Men's Snowboard 2027
Yes Basic Men's Snowboard 2027
Returning to the fundamentals.
The Basic has stood the test of time, and is where it all started for YES. It’s a freestyle board that you can take anywhere and do anything on ... which is the outlook that defined UnInc*, and continues to define YES. The Basic has great edge hold thanks to its UnderBite technology, and this year we’ve updated the base to a Sintered Ptex. This is the best Basic we
have ever made. Its time to get back to Basics.

Board Type: Freestyle-All Mountain
Freestyle snowboards are built for park riders and those who love performing tricks on jumps, rails, and side hits.
All Mountain snowboards are versatile boards that excel across various terrains, from groomed runs to off-piste. These boards offer solid edge control and responsiveness, making them a great option for riders who want one board to do just about everything.
Flex: 6/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.
Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
A beginner snowboard is softer, lighter, and more stable, making it easier to control and manoeuvre while learning basic skills like turning and stopping.
Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.
Shape: Twin
A twin-shaped snowboard is symmetrical with an identical tip and tail, designed for equal performance riding forward or switch. It’s perfect for freestyle tricks, spins, and jumps, offering balance, stability, and control in both directions.
Camber Type: CamRock 3-4-3
Camrocker boards have a profile where the center of the board is closer to the snow, and the nose and tail are raised.
Enhances float in powder, makes turn initiation easier, and is generally more forgiving.
May sacrifice some edge hold and stability compared to traditional camber.
Width: Standard, Wide
Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.
Wide boards are for those with large boot sizes and provide extra flotation, reduced drag, and never feel clunky or cumbersome underfoot.
Inserts: 2x4 Inserts
These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.
Board Construction
Topsheet: Biax
Biax fiberglass consists of fibers running in two directions, typically along the length and width of the board. This construction provides a balanced flex pattern, making the snowboard more forgiving and easier to control. It enhances torsional flexibility, allowing for smoother turns and maneuvers, which is particularly beneficial for riders who prioritize a playful and versatile riding experience rather than aggressive performance.
Core: Flow Core - Poplar
Poplar is known for its combination of lightweight and strength, providing a good balance for the core. Its lightweight nature contributes to the overall reduced weight of the snowboard.
Additionally, poplar offers a consistent and predictable flex pattern, enhancing the board's responsiveness.
The wood's durability ensures the core can withstand the stresses of riding while maintaining a desirable flex. Overall, poplar wood helps create snowboards that are lightweight, durable, and responsive, catering to a broad range of riders.
Base: Sintered
Designed for those who never want to be stuck on a flat cat-track. This high-density, porous base absorbs massive amounts of wax for elite-level glide and durability against hidden sub-surface "surprises."
Additional Features:
- UnderBite
UnderBite edges re-distribute a rider’s weight in such a way that it enhances turning ease and edge hold. Pulling short sections of the sidecut inward at the binding area by a couple of millimetres disrupts and reduces the surface area of the edge that has contact with snow while the board is turning. This increases the edge pressure by distributing your weight/energy in the areas where you need it - from the binding out and through the centre of the board where the carving arc is taking place. This segmentation of the sidecut into 3 key zones focuses your body weight onto areas that initiate, hold and release turns.
